Smart Parking using iot

Ir is used for getting information of cars entry and exit, Ultrasonic is used for the parking lot is occupied or not.

But can we not use only one sensor instead of the two because the function of both of them are same to detect vehicle?

Yes but I think the detection is done in two different places. If it is lanned to use in such way it can be possible.
