LG CNS Smart City Project Expansion

LG CNS, a leading AI transformation company from Korea has entered into its first partnership with a U.S. government agency to bring smart city technology to Hogansville, Georgia. This project will focus on installing smart poles and an integrated control system to enhance public safety, connectivity and city operations. The initiative marks the company’s official debut in the U.S. smart city sector, beginning with downtown Hogansville and the surrounding parks.

The smart poles will combine traditional street and traffic lighting with advanced Internet of Things (IoT) capabilities. Each pole will feature smart lighting control, public Wi-Fi access, environmental sensors and CCTV cameras. These technologies aim to monitor traffic flow and improve overall safety while collecting data that can be used for better urban management. All of this will be managed through LG CNS’s proprietary Cityhub Building platform, ensuring seamless operation.

Beyond the basic IoT features, the additional facilities will include electric vehicle charging stations, digital signage and emergency call buttons. These emergency buttons are directly linked to local emergency services for faster response times in urgent situations. The extra features are designed to enhance convenience and public safety for Hogansville’s residents.

LG CNS has a strong background in deploying smart city solutions worldwide including major projects in Korea and Indonesia. Notably, the company has been involved in large-scale developments such as Sejong Smart City and Busan Eco Delta Smart City. With this new initiative in Georgia, LG CNS plans to expand its smart city projects to nearby cities like LaGrange and West Point.
